    Police: Man killed in overnight shooting in Franklin

    FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) — A man is dead after an overnight shooting in Franklin, according to police.

    Around 3:12 a.m. Saturday, police dispatch began to receive calls about a shooting on the 1600 block of Dorchester Street.

    Upon arrival, officers discovered that a vehicle apparently crashed into a house. The man inside the vehicle had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

    The victim was later identified as 37-year-old Davon Davis of Suffolk. He was transported to the chief medical examiner’s office in Norfolk.

    Police urge residents of Dorchester Street and Dorchester Square Apartments with cameras to contact them immediately.
