North Carolina man accused of trafficking fentanyl

CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — A man was arrested on drug charges in Currituck County on Saturday.

The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted a joint operation with Pasquotank County Sheriffs Office Narcotics Unit, to arrest 45-year-old Joseph Richard Ray McCullen.

“The operation was the result of a joint effort over several months in a great example of our collaboration with surrounding agencies to disrupt the trafficking of fentanyl into our community,” a release states.

McCullen was charged with trafficking fentanyl by possession, trafficking fentanyl by transportation and maintaining a vehicle for sale and distribution of controlled substance.
