WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) – A 55-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Armistead Avenue, according to officials.

Williamsburg Fire and Police departments responded to a report of a traffic crash involving a pedestrian on Saturday afternoon around 3:23 p.m.

A preliminary investigation discovered that a red Toyota Tacoma traveled east on Prince George Street and turned left onto Armistead Avenue when it hit a woman who was walking on the same avenue.

Williamsburg Police have found that neither alcohol nor speed were factors in the crash.

The woman has been transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center.
