Man injured following Sunday night shooting in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va.(WAVY)– Portsmouth Police are investigating a Sunday night shooting.

According to police, officers were called to the 600 block of Lanier Crescent at 11:04 p.m. for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Photos from the scene show a heavy police presence, with multiple officers searching the area.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

We are working to learn the extent of the victim’s injuries.
