Deputies: Man found with psychedelics, marijuana, vapes in NC

COLINGTON, N.C. (WAVY) — A man was arrested on drug charges in Colington Drive after a traffic stop on Monday, deputies said.

Around 12 a.m., deputies from the A-District of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Colinton Road near Baum Bay Drive.

During the stop, probable cause was established to search the vehicle. Deputies found and seized psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, THC vapes, marijuana paraphernalia and drug paraphernalia.

40-year-old Michael A. Harkabusic of Leechburg was arrested at the scene. Harkabusic has been charged with felony possession of a Schedule I and VI controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, open container after consuming and no operators license.

Harkabusic was issued a $35,000 secured bond related to these charges. Kill Devil Hills Police Department Patrol Division assisted in this incident.
