    City of Virginia Beach to host career fair with on-the-spot interviews

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The City of Virginia Beach will be holding a career fair mid-October.

    Career opportunities are available in various fields, including engineering, operational, technical and more. Additionally, on-the-spot interviews will be provided for select positions.

    Representatives of these 17 departments will be on site:

    • Convention & Visitors Bureau
    • Emergency Communications & Citizen Services
    • Emergency Medical Services
    • Finance
    • Fire
    • Housing and Neighborhood Preservation
    • Human Resources
    • Human Services
    • Information Technology
    • Libraries
    • Office of Emergency Management
    • Parks and Recreation
    • Planning & Community Development
    • Police
    • Public Utilities
    • Public Works
    • Sheriff’s Office

    The City of Virginia Beach offers a minimum starting pay of $15 an hour, a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, CDL training, tuition reimbursement and hiring bonuses for certain positions.

    The career fair will be held on Oct. 15 from noon to 6 p.m. It’ll be located on the second floor of the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th St.

    It is open to the public and free of charge with free parking available in the front and side lots.
