VB teacher gets surprise proposal at awards ceremony

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A teacher in Virginia Beach got the surprise of a lifetime! Green Run Collegiate awarded Dawn Stahl Teacher of the Month. Dawn is a special education teacher for emotional/learning disabilities.

Teacher of the Month was not the only surprise for Ms. Stahl — at the awards ceremony, on Sept. 27, Stahl’s boyfriend, Sidney Keith got on stage to share in her joy. Keith is also a teacher in Virginia Beach, teaching at First Colonial High School.

Mr. Keith got on stage to share in Stahl’s joy, but he also had something very important he wanted to ask her. In front of the entire crowd of students, friends and family, Keith got down on one knee and proposed!

The crowd went crazy with cheers a whoops of joy! WAVY 10 is happy to report Ms. Stahl is soon to be a Mrs., because she said yes! Congratulations to the happy couple, and thank you for your dedication to educating the children of Virginia Beach!
