VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — This weekend was supposed to have people up and down the Virginia Beach boardwalk for the Something in the Water festival. Organizers say it will be back in 2025. However, that did not stop some locals from bringing music to the Oceanfront.

Organizers jumped at the chance to fill the spot and hold their very own music festival called Pulse Festival. The concerts are on 17th and 24th street. One organizer says the chance to put it together so quickly and have it turn into a success makes them proud.

“It has been just so heart opening in a whirlwind of emotions, putting this all together and seeing the community come together and do something with, you know, the void. There’s something in the water being postponed left. But I can say with all my heart that I am so proud to be from Virginia Beach,” said BJ Griffin, organizer and performer at the Pulse Festival.
