HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plan to begin implementing long-term lane closures on Settlers Landing Road, Woodland Road, and the I-64 ramp.

The I-64 east-off ramp to Settlers Landing Road (exit 267) will be closed nightly on Oct. 14-16 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. with a signed detour in place.

Drivers are recommended to use I-664 as an alternative route while contractor crews work on roadway and bridge widening.

The temporary traffic patterns are projected to be in place until late 2025:

    Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road

    • Westbound traffic will be shifted right with Settlers Landing Road being comprised of two lanes and a left-turn lane to I-64 east at the I-64 overpass.
    • Eastbound traffic will be reduced to a single through lane and a left-turn lane to I-64 west at the I-64 overpass.

I-64 East Off-Ramp to Settlers Landing Road (exit 267)

    • A long-term single-lane closure in place on the I-64 east off-ramp from I-64 to Settlers Landing Road (exit 267), with the two left-turn lanes temporarily reduced to one. The new ramp configuration to Settlers Landing Road will be comprised of a left-turn only lane, a through lane, and a right-turn and through lane.
