    #15/16 William & Mary handle Campbell on Homecoming

    WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Courtesy of W&M Athletics) – The No. 15/16 William & Mary football team earned a 35-28 victory against Campbell in front of a Homecoming crowd of 12,138 at Zable Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

    Led by Bronson Yoder (131 rushing yards) and Malachi Imoh (122 rushing yards), the Tribe (5-2, 2-1) piled up 355 rushing yards, marking the third time in the last four games that W&M has eclipsed 300 yards on the ground.

    The contest was knotted at 21-21 entering the fourth quarter, but W&M pulled ahead with a 6-yard touchdown run by Yoder and a 6-yard touchdown pass from Darius Wilson to Hollis Mathis to lead, 35-21, with 7:39 to play.

    An 11-yard touchdown pass from Chad Mascoe to Sincere Brown with 1:56 remaining cut the lead in half, but the ensuing onside kick went out of bounds and W&M picked up a pair of first downs en route to running out the clock.

    Things looked good early for the Tribe, as it scored touchdowns on both of its first two possessions, coming on a 33-yard run by Imoh and a 1-yard run by Wilson.

    After Campbell (2-5, 0-3) got on the scoreboard with a 35-yard touchdown strike from Mascoe to VJ Wilkins late in the first quarter, W&M reclaimed a two-score advantage with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Wilson to JT Mayo .

    The Camels answered, however, as Mascoe threw a pair of touchdown passes, coming on a 2-yard pass to Wilkins with 11 seconds remaining in the second quarter and a 19-yard strike to JJ Cowan on the opening drive of the third quarter.

    Tribe Standouts
    Yoder led the Tribe with 131 rushing yards on 24 carries with a touchdown, while Imoh finished with 122 rushing yards on 12 carries with a touchdown. Imoh also recorded three catches for 52 yards.

    Wilson completed 11-of-17 passes for 109 yards with two scores, while he also rushed for 61 yards with a touchdown.

    Defensively, Quinn Osborne totaled a team-high eight tackles, while Jaden Boring posted a pair of TFLs. Jalen Jones also came up big with a forced fumble, which was recovered by Jonathan Hammond , and three pass breakups. Jaden Ratliff recorded his first career interception in the second quarter.

    Inside the Numbers
    W&M outgained Campbell, 464-423, which included a 355-103 advantage on the ground. It marked the sixth time this season that the Tribe recorded more than 400 yards of total offense.

    Campbell became the first team to throw for more than 300 yards against the Tribe this season, as it finished with 320 yards through the air.

    W&M controlled the time of possession, 33:30-26:30, and recorded 28 first downs.

    The Tribe scored touchdowns with four of its five trips into the Red Zone.

    Campbell was penalized 10 times for 106 yards.
