Public Service Commission to take up plan to add new fossil fuels to energy mix
ATLANTA – Georgia energy regulators already have approved a request by Georgia Power for a significant increase in electrical generating capacity to meet the needs of a growing state. But the state Public Service Commission (PSC) still must sign off on a key component of the Atlanta-based utility’s plan: a proposal to build three new “dual-fuel” turbines at Plant Yates near Newnan. Gators & Gypsies to hold grand opening downtown on Saturday night
Downtown Statesboro can add a new entertainment place to its roster with the grand opening of Gators & Gypsies. Owned by Statesboro native Ginny Hendley, G&G is a new lounge that features arcade games, multiple lounge areas, a bar, pool tables, and more. The lounge will host its grand opening on Saturday, July 20, with doors opening at 6pm. Live music will begin at 7pm and play until 11pm. It is located at 19 E. Vine St. in downtown Statesboro.
