SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Cursive is back in Iowa schools. The ability to read and write cursive has been fading from American society. “You just don’t see very many people using cursive because a lot of people are not writing checks anymore,” said Tina Brennan, one of Sioux City Community School District’s consulting teachers.

Davenport schools back in session
Today was Davenport Community School District’s first day of classes. Our Quad Cities News was there as kids from Eisenhower Elementary School in Davenport showed up for their first day. The district says it’s implementing a new reading curriculum, in addition to updated technology. The district is also working to build positive environments to help students’ futures.
First day of school called off at Starmont after faculty become sick
ARLINGTON, Iowa — The first day of school at Starmont Community Schools was canceled on Friday after several employees fell sick Thursday. The school announced on social media that the first day of school will now be Monday. School leaders also called off all sports practices on Friday evening.
