Smithville Community Historical Society presenting Civil War History Day this Saturday
The Smithville Community Historical Society and the Wayne County Civil War Round Table will present Civil War History Day this Saturday, from 10am-3pm at the society grounds, in Smithville. Civil War presenters will include soldiers from both the North and South, the playing of taps, a three-gun volley salute and the reading of the Gettysburg Address. There will also be Civil War-era re-enactors, exhibits and special programs for children, as well as food and live music. The event is free and open to the public.
