WAYNE, NJ - The Wayne Education Foundation's Pre-K Camp was abuzz with excitement today as the Wayne Police Department paid a special visit to educate young campers about their role in community safety. The theme of the day, inspired by the popular children's show Paw Patrol, aimed to teach children about the various community helpers in Wayne.
Officers from the Wayne PD arrived in their patrol car, complete with flashing lights and sirens, capturing the children's attention from the moment they arrived. Dressed in their official uniforms, the officers took the time to explain each piece of equipment and its importance in their daily duties. From the badge to the utility belt, the officers engaged the children by showing them how each item contributes to their ability to keep the community safe.
The Wayne Education Foundation's Pre-K Camp, known for its engaging activities that blend learning with fun, focused on teaching children about different community helpers throughout the day. From firefighters to doctors, each day brought new insights and understanding about the roles these individuals play in keeping the town running smoothly.
"We had so much fun today learning about the police officers and their patrol car," exclaimed Hilary Caruso Pre-K Teacher. "They even let us sit inside the car and turn on the lights!"
