WAYNE, NJ - The Wayne Interfaith Food Pantry, which serves over 160 food-challenged families and individuals in our town, is running low on supplies and shelves are emptying. This all-volunteer local organization needs residents' support year round, but sometimes they need it more. This is one of those times.
With many residents vacationing in July out of town, usual donations are down. But, in town or out of town, donating funds directly to the WIN Food Pantry allows their volunteers to go shopping for exactly what's needed.
Or, to donate needed goods directly, please visit www.winfoodpantry.org , or call 973-595-1900 to find out when you can drop off items at the WIN food pantry, and to find out exactly what's needed.
Donations can be dropped off directly at Wayne’s Shop-Rite, Jack’s Foodtown, Pristine Auto Spa, the Wayne Health Department, and at the food pantry itself located at the Wayne YMCA at 1 Pike Drive.
"WIN is grateful for the continued generosity and support of local houses of worship, businesses, organizations, and residents who make it possible for us to help our neighbors in need," said volunteer Dianne Douthat. "If you are in need of assistance from WIN, please contact the Wayne Township Director of Senior and Social Services at 973-694-1800 (ext. 3281), who screens all potential recipients."
Happy Summer! As you get ready to have a good time on your summer holiday, Wayne’s Interfaith Network food pantry also hopes you’ll do something good for neighbors in need.
The shelves at WIN are looking a little bare right now; that’s why WIN is reaching out and asking our fellow Wayne residents to help us restock them. The most important items that are in short supply are non-expired canned protein (tuna, chicken, and stew), peanut butter and jelly, condiments, cooking oil, pasta and sauce, and shampoo.
Donations can be dropped off at Wayne’s Shop-Rite, Jack’s Foodtown, Pristine Auto Spa, the Wayne Health Department, and the pantry; please visit www.winfoodpantry.org , or call 973-595-1900 to find out when you can drop off items at WIN. You can also make a monetary donation at the website. We are also accepting food items and donations at Wednesday night summer concerts outside Town Hall.
