The Wayne History Challenge! for July 2024

WAYNE, NJ - The July History article is coming soon from the great people at the Wayne Museum. It will be all about the history of the land that now holds the Willowbrook Mall. But before this, comes the Wayne History Challenge! A game sponsored by Conan Ward, your Wayne Edward Jones Financial Advisor, with a $100 gift card as a prize.

The mall itself was built in the late 60s and opened in September 1969. Over the decades since then, the mall has grown with either expansion or renovation happening in 1970, 1988, 2006, and 2015. Today, the mall's anchors are Macy's, Bloomingdale's, BJ's Wholesale Club; JCPenney - which just moved into the mall after anchoring next-door Wayne Town Center since its opening.

So, here's your Wayne History Challenge! question for this month:

Can you name any of the two previous businesses which stood on the site where the Willowbrook Mall is now? Hint: This would be between 1930s and the 1960s.
