    Juneteenth Unity Festival headed to Burke County

    BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) — Juneteenth is approaching, and the Boggs Rural Life Center and the Burke County Juneteenth Committee are planning four days of celebration.

    The kickoff event is on Saturday, June 1, at BRLC on the Historic Boggs Academy Campus, featuring church choirs, singing groups, Electric Violinist Javonne Jones, and the BCHS Chorus.

    The festivities continue on Sunday, June 2, at 3 p.m. with the Miss Juneteenth Pageant at the Burke County Office Park.

    On Friday, June 14, from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., there will be an all-day celebration at the Boggs Rural Life Center, including a 2k run, food vendors, a fish fry, and a movie night.

    The event culminates on Saturday, June 15, at 1 p.m. with the Juneteenth Parade in Historic Downtown Waynesboro, followed by family-oriented activities at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds.
