Dover to construct stormwater system to pave way for construction of Schaeffler plant
DOVER ‒ Dover City Council has authorized Service Director Dave Douglas to enter into contracts for a stormwater system on the north end of the city — the last step needed by the city to prepare the way for construction of the Schaeffler Group plant. Knox Ruritan Club celebrated its 50th birthday at a meeting in June during which the club celebrated recent graduates and highlighted big moments in the group’s history. Dover Hopeful for More Grant Dollars
Dover is set to spend about 1.5 million dollars on stormwater management to accommodate the Schaeffler manufacturing facility coming to the city’s northern border. City Council Monday approved 1 million dollars in state grants to cover two-thirds of the cost. Mayor Shane Gunnoe says tax revenue from the project will cover most of the rest of the cost.
