Hinsdale Township High School District 86 teachers voiced their frustrations on multiple issues at a board meeting Thursday night.

They were led by Hinsdale High School Teachers’ Association Co-President John Bowman, who expressed concern about the "toxic environment" the school board has fostered.

He noted there have been seven acting superintendents in the last 12 months. He also stated that two school board members, an assistant superintendent, an interim superintendent and the Director of Human Resources have all resigned.

A Superintendent was put on paid leave, while two interim superintendents were employed at a cost of $600,000, Bowman noted.

The teachers also have concerns about the board's required curriculum that has little interest among students. Some of those courses have fewer than five students enrolled.
