CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Residents of one Chicago neighborhood won’t have to wait much longer for the return of Foxtrot, which announced that its Gold Coast location will reopen on Thursday.

The high-end grocery chain, along with sister retailer Dom's Kitchen and Market, abruptly closed all 33 of its stores across the country in April 2024.

When the store reopens, it will do so with “an expanded coffee experience and reimagined food offering.” The menu will feature: breakfast tacos, panini sandwiches, salads, bowls and a variety of freshly baked cookies.

On Thursday, customers who arrive at the store between 6 – 10 a.m. will be able to enjoy a free coffee and complimentary samples of Foxtrot’s new cookies and berry chai refresher. No purchase will be required to enjoy the freebies.

On Friday, Foxtrot will host a happy hour starting at 3 p.m., with $4 local beer on tap and $7 wine pours until the store closes.

When Foxtrot reopens, it will do so with dozens of former vendors, including Metric Coffee, All Together Now and Do-Rite Donuts.

As Eater Chicago reported , though, some brands refused to return and cited trust issues stemming from this year’s closure.

Foxtrot said its Gold Coast location will be the first of multiple locations in Chicago and Dallas scheduled to reopen through 2025.
