DOLTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Business was done with less drama than usual Tuesday night when the Dolton Village Board met.

Four of the trustees were absent.

Mayor Tiffany Henyard’s attorney said the trustees, who are at odds with the mayor, didn’t give proper notice and violated the Open Meetings Act.

This followed revelations the village is more than $3 million in the red . There also have been allegations of financial misdeeds.

    Nothing has been proven.

Henyard noted the usual hecklers were absent along with those trustees.

“Pay attention to who bring all the drama to your community,” Henyard said. “Where all the hecklers at, that’s lonely in the crowd? They’re not here today.”
Henyard made some staff appointments during the meeting, which came on the same day that the Illinois Attorney General’s Office found that the village has violated the Open Meeting Act by preventing some citizens from attending meetings.
