CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — An early-morning SWAT situation on Chicago’s South Side ended with two people hospitalized and one person arrested on Sunday.

Police responded to a building near South Cottage Grove Avenue and 105th Street after gunfire was reported at the scene. A 29-year-old man, who was shot multiple times, managed to get himself to a local hospital while two others remained barricaded inside the building.

The 29-year-old man was reported to be in critical condition.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting, but Chicago police said the SWAT situation was eventually cleared “without incident” after several hours.

A second shooting victim was hospitalized with a graze wound. Police said they were in good condition.

Area Two detectives are investigating, officials said.
