(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Chicago man has been arrested for a stabbing on the Red Line on Labor Day that critically wounded another passenger. He was due in court Tuesday for a detention hearing.

Trent Prusinski faces two felony counts of aggravated battery in the stabbing on board a Red Line train. Police arrested the 23-year-old near his home in Sheridan Park, not far from the Wilson Station.

It’s at the Wilson Station that the department said Prusinski got into a fight with a 37-year-old man shortly after 1 p.m. on Labor Day and stabbed him several times.

The victim was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police had no update on his status.
