(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Skokie 5-year-old is being recognized for her bravery after calling 911 after finding her mother passed out.

Zoey Reddick, 5, made the call after finding that her mother had fainted in their Skokie apartment on May 28.

"Mommy called me and I kept saying three times and she didn't wake up, and I called 911," Zoey told CBS News Chicago .

Zoey's mom Jessica Reddick, who has Graves' disease, told CBS News Chicago she couldn't believe it.

"Why are you guys here, who called you? And they were like, ‘your daughter.’"
