    Illinois animal rescue raising money after Helene-related storms damage facility

    (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A local group that helps animals is seeking donations, after one of its facilities was damaged by the remnants of Hurricane Helene.

    Wright-Way Rescue has centers in Morton Grove and Murphysboro in southern Illinois.

    The organization said its Murphysboro facility experienced heavy rain and strong winds related to Hurricane Helene.

    The stormy weather severely damaged a play yard for dogs.

    In a statement provided to WBBM Newsradio, officials with Wright-Way Rescue said the play yard is essential for dogs to exercise and socialize.

    The group is seeking donations to repair the yard and said anyone interested in helping may do so online .
