The season isn’t all that’s changing, as October is one of the biggest months for change of location — and scammers and substandard companies are ready to move it.

Moving can be a very emotional and time pressured decision.

Beware, because along with outright scammers who will take your money and run, there is also the possibility of being involved with a less-than-reputable mover.

The BBB receives an average of 13,000 complaints and negative reviews about movers each year.

Commonly consumers complain about movers providing the cost of the move and then changing the deal with extra charges at the last minute.

Always research companies before you do business with them. Pay with a credit card and avoid making large upfront payments.
