(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — There's a new controversy surrounding an embattled south suburban mayor.

Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard is already under investigation for mishandling village finances and now, she could be facing troubles of her own.

The mayor could face eviction from her South Harvard home.

Henyard rents the property with her boyfriend, Kamal Woods, who is also a village employee. Both are named in a recently filed eviction case.

In response to a request for comment, a representative from Henyard's attorney's office has issued a statement saying no payment has ever been missed and that the investigation is being brought based on “ill motives.”

In the past week, a Cook County judge ruled against Henyard , and ordered that the mayor not make appointments without approval by the trustees.

The latest ruling comes as an investigation, which has not yet been completed, found the village is deep in the red and as trustees raise questions about how the mayor is spending village money.

The ruling came after yet another contentious Thornton Township meeting .

Board members called on Board Supervisor Henyard to be more transparent with her spending.

“I am the leader for Thorntown Township. I am the supervisor of Thorntown Township, and I’m going to make sure you all give me the respect and stop playing these games every time you come to the meeting,” Henyard declared.

    Trustee Carmen Carlisle fought back.

“Mayor, you’re out of order. Respect is earned and is not demanded,” Carlisle said.
