ORLAND PARK (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Hate charges have been reduced against a southwest suburban man accused of attacking and making ethnically-tinged comments against his next door neighbors.

Terrence Clyne, 68, of Orland Park had been charged with a hate crime for attacking his neighbors who are of Palestinian descent in January.

It was a dispute over the placement of garbage cans at the end of a driveway.

But, according to the Daily Southtown , the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office dropped the felony hate crime charges and allowed Clyne to plead guilty to misdemeanor battery charges.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations said it is disappointed Clyne was able to “get off easy,” in the group’s words.

Clyne has been sentenced to a year of probation, ordered to have no contact with his neighbors, complete 20 hours of community service as well as order to complete anger management courses.

I personally wouldn't need a court to handle a racist neighbor. They are racist because of they're entitlement
