(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Evanston Police are investigating three separate shootings that happened over two days this week.

Evanston police say 41-year old Sean Gayle has been charged in connection with a shooting Monday night that left him and a 50-year old man wounded. Police say the shooting on Dempster Street in the vicinity of Dodge Avenue, was sparked by an ongoing dispute.

A loaded Ruger handgun was recovered and Gayle was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

The next day there was a shooting around Dempster Street and Darrow Avenue where a 34-year old man was wounded. After reviewing video of the incident, prosecutors charged 33-year old Jerell Williams with attempted murder.

The 34-year-old victim was taken to an area hospital where they were in stable condition.

Also on Tuesday, Evanston police say a 50-year old man accidentally shot himself in the hand in the area of Dodge Avenue and Church Street.
