(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A middle school teacher who sued Evanston/Skokie District 65 over allegations she was discriminated against because she's white has lost a round in court.

A federal judge has dismissed Stacy Deemar's lawsuit, saying she lacked standing for her Title 6 claims because she was never treated differently than other educators nor denied benefits.

Patch reported the drama teacher from Wilmette filed the suit three years ago, arguing the district stigmatized her and subjected her to a hostile environment with its racial equity policies.

Deemar wanted the district to acknowledge it violated her civil rights and stop doing it.  The judge dismissed the case without prejudice, so Deemar is free to file it again if she amends it.

District 65 is expected to release a statement this week but told Patch last week they are gratified the case was dismissed.
