CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Officials with the Democratic National Convention said an investigation continues into what appeared to be fake bomb threats against several Chicago hotels on the second day of the DNC.

Investigators said the threats were emailed to multiple news agencies.

Among the hotels reportedly included in the bomb threats were: the Ritz-Carlton, the Omni Chicago, the Peninsula, the St. Regis, the Hotel Chicago West Loop, the Nobu Hotel Chicago and the Hyatt House Chicago hotels in West Loop and the University District.

The threats claimed that pipe bombs were placed in hotel rooms in response to violence in connection to the war in Gaza.

A spokesperson at the Joint Information Center for the DNC said investigators checked out the location and determined that the threats were fake.
