(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — As Loyola University prepares to welcome back students, it’s celebrating the birthday of a famous century-old nun.

Loyola Ramblers team chaplain Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt is turning 105 on Wednesday.

Sister Jean was born in San Francisco in 1919. She spent the first part of her life in California before moving to Chicago where she has now spent over 60 years in the city.

A WTC Block Party and LUMA Exhibit on Aug. 29 at the Water Tower campus will celebrate Sister Jean’s 105th trip around the sun.

In recent years, Sister Jean wrote a book and earlier this year the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum said her bobblehead is still one of their top selling bobbleheads of all times .
