(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Northwestern students will have to take training on antisemitism when they return to class next month. The university announced other changes Tuesday in the wake of pro-Palestinian protests that rocked the campus last spring.

More changes are coming to the student code of conduct and there will be discussions about antisemitism, Islamophobia and racism.

Northwestern President Michael Schill announced the moves in an email that said the mandatory training will be part of new student orientation and held over the fall quarter for returning students.

He said “Free expression and academic freedom are the lifeblood of the University, but they must not be used as an excuse for behavior that threatens the core of our mission.”

Details of the updated code and a new policy on displays are expected to be shared next month.

Three faculty members and a grad student were charged with obstructing police at the pro-Palestinian encampment, but those misdemeanors were later dropped.

Something that one would think their parents would have taught and instilled into their children! How not to be a pompous, clueless asshole.
