CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Police Department (CPD) has asked for the public’s help in finding the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run that took place on Aug. 10 on DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Police said the crash happened near the city’s Museum Campus shortly after 4 a.m., when a person was struck twice while crossing the northbound lanes of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

The driver in the first collision stayed at the scene. Shortly after, though, another car hit the victim — and that driver failed to stop.

Authorities said they believe the second vehicle is a white, four-door sedan with a moonroof. It’s possibly a 2017 – 2020 Lincoln Continental, officials said, and it likely has front-end damage from the crash.

The vehicle was last seen on East Grand Avenue near North McClurg Court.

Anyone with information on the crash is encouraged to contact CPD’s Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521.
