CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police have released images of a man wanted for a shooting in the South Loop last week at a late night diner that was witnessed by some Democratic Convention delegates.

The incident occurred at the White Palace Grill at Roosevelt and Canal, at about 3 a.m.

A 42-year-old man who was leaving the restaurant was shot multiple times.

Colorado state Rep. Javier Mabrey was among the witnesses. He said there were very loud and close gunshots.

Singh Badhesha, also from Colorado, was with him. He posted a video on X just after it happened.

“I’m laying on the floor of Chicago f—---- Diner. There was a shooting, everybody else on the floor too,” he said.

The images of the shooter, released by police, are pretty clear. They’re from inside the restaurant.

They show a man in a black t-shirt with “officer” in white letters on the front. He’s wearing a black vest and blue jeans with black and gold stripes down the seams and a blue baseball cap. There’s a gold badge on his belt.

Police say he’s 25 to 35-years-old, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, and 150-200 pounds.

He was seen leaving in a silver Ford Focus.

Captured by surveillance video on the morning of the incident, Chicago Police believe the shooting suspect at the White Palace Grill fled in this silver Ford Focus. Photo credit Chicago Police Department
