(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago’s cultural community will once again be celebrating Halloween in a unique way on Saturday.

It's the 10th year for the celebration, and this year the Arts in the Dark Parade will be down State Street from 6- 8 p.m on Saturday.

“I would not have imagined that we have made it 10 years and it's getting better and better because the best thing about the 10 years is that we have so many groups that have been with us from the beginning and they get better every year,” Event Organizer LUMA8’s Sharene Shariatzadeh said.

The event is about showing off Chicago's cultural community.

“Everyone's gathering on Chicago's main street, State Street, but it really reflects every neighborhood in the city and a lot of just underground, funny, interesting things that you would never know about.”

She said the Arts in the Dark Parade is unique in that it combines costumes, masks, special effects, music, dance and lighting. The parade will feature everything from dancers to roller skaters to marching bands, to fire workers.
