(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Recently, WBBM shared the story of a store on Chicago's Northwest Side that specializes in a wide variety of horror merchandise as part of our "Made in Chicago" series. Now, the owners of the store say they need help, because they're being forced to move.

Moses Gibson is one of the co-owners of The Horror House on the corner of Belmont and Francisco Avenues in the Avondale neighborhood, which recently had a massive water leak.

"It starts with a pipe that busted in the unit that's above us, in which our landlord actually resides with his family," Gibson said.

"It’s actually the second time that pipe busted, it wasn't even the first time."

Gibson says that damaged the store and some of its merchandise. It also led to the discovery of mold contamination.

He says all of that is forcing The Horror House to close and move to a new location on Milwaukee Avenue near Kimball Avenue. However, the new shop isn't expected to open until December.

The timing couldn't be worse, since business peaks at The Horror House from October through December.

That's why the owners started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover some of their losses and some of the costs of moving, as well as get the new store off to a good start.
