Webster Street businesses team up for North Tonawanda's 'World Wide Webster' event

North Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - In collaboration with the second annual Carnegie Art Spree, the "World Wide Webster" event will be kicking off in North Tonawanda on Sunday.

From 11 a.m.-to-4 p.m. ET, attendees will be able to enjoy food, music, and dances from all over the world. There will also be special $5 cocktail and food menus, each themed after different cultures, for people try.

Kristin Derby, who helped organize the event, says there will also be an interactive "passport" game for those who are interested in a challenge.

"The first 500 attendees will get a what's called a 'passport' to emphasize the cultural opportunities that are there on the street," stated Derby in an interview with WBEN. "For every visit, every purchase, you get a stamp, and then at the end of the day, you can submit it for a grand prize drawing."

The first 100 people to turn in a completed passport will receive a free t-shirt that says "Don't Sleep on NT."

North Tonawanda Mayor Austin Tylec is looking forward to the event, and is hoping it will turn out great. He believes it has the potential to be an every year event.

"It's going to be great," said Tylec with WBEN. "Anytime that we can bring nonprofits together, artists, food, business, engaging the waterfront and working with the City of Tonawanda too. It's a win-win for everyone. Everyone's really optimistic. They think this is something that's going to continue to grow. It's the second annual. I'm sure it's going to go on for many, many years."
