Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Canadian high pressure will build across all of the Great Lakes region in the coming days, guaranteeing fair, dry weather Monday through at least Thursday night. The start of this period will be quite cool though with below normal temperatures expected. The coldest Southern Tier valleys could even experience a smattering of light frost Monday night.

Labor Day will look nice and even summer-like, but there will be a notable fall-like feel to the air.

"It will feel like fall," Mitchell says. "Very low humidity, highs in the mid 60's. It won't feel like September."

For school kids starting back to class Tuesday, it will be a cold start across the Buffalo-Niagara region. "We're going to get down to the 40's for most areas, upper 30's over the higher terrain," Mitchell notes.

Things will warm-up as the 'back to school' week unfolds, Mitchell says. "The coolest day will be Labor Day. As we go into Tuesday...that'll be upper 60's to lower 70's." Temps should be in the mid to upper 70's by Thursday.

Looking ahead to the weekend, late Friday and Saturday appear to be wet days, however some uncertainty in the early forecasting remains, so stay tuned!
