Eighth-grader struck, killed on Grand Island

Grand Island, N.Y. (WBEN) - An eighth-grader was killed Wednesday night after being hit by a vehicle on Grand Island, according to Grand Island School Superintendent Dr. Brian Graham on Facebook. The crash happened on South Parkway near Broadway.

Dr. Graham calls it a "heartbreaking tragedy that has deeply affected our school community."

Grief counselors will be available throughout the school district beginning Thursday.
