Trooper injured in motorcycle crash

Porter, NY (WBEN) A state trooper is undergoing surgery at ECMC after State Police say he was struck by a car that didn't yield the right of way to him Friday afternoon.

Around 1:30, troopers say a car driven by 69 year old Anastassia Radell got off the parkway onto Route 93. Trooper say Radell failed to yield the right of way and was struck by the state police motorcycle on State Route 93.

The trooper had serious injuries; Radell was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries.

State Police are investigating, but say no intoxication was indicated.

The troopers' name not being released right now. Trooper James O'Callaghan tells WBEN the trooper was doing a dry run for a motorcycle charity event at the time of the crash.
