    Preston County VFD collecting supplies for Hardy County firefighters, victims

    BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Bruceton Brandon Volunteer Fire Department is still collecting donations for people affected by the wildfire in Hardy County on Friday.

    The updated list of needed supplies includes the following items:

    • Cleaning supplies
    • Laundry detergent
    • Towels
    • Blankets
    • Hygiene products
    • Bottled water
    • Nonperishable foods
    • Paper towels
    • Toiletries
    • Garbage bags
    • Two-stroke oil

    In a post Thursday evening, the VFD said that anyone with questions about donations can message the Facebook page .

    Other VFDs including Masontown and Farmington in north central West Virginia and many others in the Potomac Highlands are also collecting items, so check with your local department.

    BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Bruceton Brandon Volunteer Fire Department (BBVFD) is collecting supplies to take to Hardy County where ‘countless’ structures have been destroyed in a wildfire .

    Representatives will be at the fire department at 142 Union St. in Bruceton Mills to collect items from noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 21. Items that are needed include:

    • Bottled water
    • Nonperishable foods
    • Blankets
    • Towels
    • Cleaning supplies

    The collected supplies will be distributed to citizen and first responders who are affected by the fires.

    “We thank our community of GOOD NEIGHBORS in advance for your help!” the BBVFD said in a Facebook post .

    As of Thursday morning, 14 structures were on fire and many others have already been lost.
