CANTON, Ohio (WBOY) — The eyes of the NFL world will be on a Martinsburg native Thursday night who is set to start for the Chicago Bears during the NFL’s annual Hall of Fame Game.

According to CBS Sports , West Virginia native and Shepherd University graduate Tyson Bagent was named the starter for the Chicago Bears on Thursday night as the team faces off against the Houston Texans.

Here’s how you can stream Harrison County high school sports

Bagent was signed by the Bears in 2023 as an undrafted free agent and played in five games for the Bears during the same year, ending with a 2-3 record with wins over the Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders. He also threw for 859 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions, per ESPN.

Bagent is set to be QB2 this year for the Bears, who are expecting their No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams to be better than their previous star quarterback Justin Fields, who was shipped off to the Pittsburgh Steelers in March.

You can catch the game Thursday evening on WBOY-ABC at 8 p.m.
