CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginians will soon have the option to fly to another major hub airport from the West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW).

Starting on Nov. 14, Breeze Airways will offer twice-weekly flights from CRW to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) on Thursdays and Sundays, the company announced in a press release.

Airport Director & CEO Dominique Ranieri said in the release the New York City area is among the top destinations West Virginians have been requesting.

“This new route not only enhances access and flexibility for visitors to the New York City area but also offers expanded options for connecting to other destinations,” Ranieri said, in part, in the release.

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) said in a press release that this will be the first time in 11 years that CRW has had a direct New York flight.

The new flights will start at $49 one-way, Justice’s release said.
