Bobbi Trimboli, a volunteer with Our Town Inc. had an aunt was a Rosie, but was not aware of it until after her aunt’s passing. Trimboli explained why she thinks it is so important to celebrate Rosies.

“Many people forgot these women in World War II,” she said. “Their families forgot what they did. It just became a normal thing. They just came home, raised families. The fact that these women worked in the workforce at that time really broke the ceiling for women in the working world.”

As a part of the ceremony, the woman received certificates from Senator Capito, and families, friends, and other members of the community rang bells for them.

12 News would like to thank these women and other Rosies out there for what they did for their country and blazing a trail for those who came after.
