AUDRA, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man was given “advanced life support care” after diving from a rock and suffering a head injury in Audra State Park.

According to a Facebook post from the Belington Volunteer Fire Department they, along with several other departments were dispatched to the park at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Saturday for a water rescue.

When they arrived on scene it was determined that the man had dove off of a rock, injured his head on the riverbed and was located on a rock in the middle of the river. Personnel were able to reach the man by hiking down the lower cave trail, establishing a rope haul system and utilizing a ladder to transfer equipment.
