CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center hosted the second annual Warriors Rock on Saturday, a musical tribute concert made up of stars and local veterans from North Central West Virginia.

Those in attendance at Warriors Rock heard music that spans through the decades while also being able to meet men and women who have served our country in various branches of the armed forces. At the concert, West Virginia’s Prisoner of War Jessica Lynch was reunited with former Marine Devlin Robinson, whose unit saved her life.

“So, five years ago a veteran by the name of Davlin Robinson was part of our Pittsburg concert. And during Devlin’s interview, he said that he was one of the Marines responsible for helping save POW Jessica Lynch. Well, I thought how wonderful is that, that has to be such a great feeling,” said Kim Racan, one of the Founders and the Producer of Warriors Rock.

“A couple of weeks ago on the news I saw that Jessica is back in West Virginia working for the state for the veteran’s assistance program, and I had this great idea, well let’s bring Devlin here, let’s bring Jessica to the concert and reunite them.”

Throughout the night local veterans shared their memories and songs that reminded them of home while they were deployed.

“Warriors Rock was a concept that my wife and I came up with, [we] wanted to honor our fathers who are veterans, and it’s just honoring all our veterans. It’s bringing patriotism back to our country today,” said Gary Racan, the Musical Director of Studio-E Entertainment. “So, we are very happy to do it.”

All of the ticket sale proceeds from the show will go towards the Clarksburg VFW and American Legion .
