    Monongalia County kicks off fair with annual parade

    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Monongalia County Fair held its annual parade down High Street in downtown Morgantown Monday evening, which officially kicked off the start of the fair, which runs all week.

    On Tuesday, the fair will officially open its gates at Mylan Park to provide fun for all ages. The cost for admission is an all-inclusive cash-only gate fee of $10, and children under the age of two are admitted for free. That all-inclusive fee also includes things like parking, live entertainment, carnival rides, livestock shows, rodeo events and motorsports events .

    “It’s a great way for the town to come together and enjoy each other, see old friends, family comes in, it’s kind of a reunion of sorts. And it’s a great tradition that we like to carry on and make stronger,” the Monongalia County Fair Committee Parade Chair Adam Anderson said.

    To add to the festivities Monday night, the Morgantown Chipotle location donated 25% of its sales from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. to the Monongalia Fair Association.
