    Rt. 50 in Clarksburg backed up after 5 vehicle accident

    CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Traffic is backed up in the eastbound lane on U.S. Route 50 due to a five vehicle accident on Wednesday morning.

    According to the Harrison County Communications Center, the accident happened around 7:43 a.m. at the top of Bridgeport Hill. It has caused traffic to back up almost to the Joyce Street exit. If commuting to work this morning, it is recommended to leave earlier or take a different route until the accident is cleared up.

    The Clarksburg Fire Department, the Clarksburg Police Department, and Harrison County EMS all responded to the scene. No injuries or transportations are being reported. No other information regarding how the accident happened has been given at this time.
