MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Students could return to the water-damaged annex at Suncrest Middle School by Thanksgiving, Monongalia County Schools Superintendent Dr. Eddie Campbell said Wednesday.

The water damage forced school officials to temporarily relocate sixth graders at Suncrest Middle School to the WVU Innovation Corporation building on Chestnut Ridge Road, which is approximately a mile away from the school.

Campbell and the school board got an update on repair work during the regular Board of Education meeting Tuesday. Campbell told 12 News that the school system has a contract with Morgantown-based City Construction to do the repairs.

Originally, school officials estimated that the project would take about three months.

The Innovation Corporation, which is located in the former Mylan Pharmaceuticals plant, includes a cafeteria where students can eat breakfast and lunch.
